Hazards Associated with Trenching & Excavations

OSHA is focusing on reducing trenching and excavation hazards. Trench collapses, or cave-ins, pose the greatest risk to workers’ lives.  This event will raise awareness about trenching and excavation hazards, emphasizing cave-ins’ danger. Presented by a local OSHA representative, the course covers OSHA standards, prevention methods, and inspection criteria.

Objectives:

  • OSHA Standards: Identify relevant OSHA standards, ensuring compliance with trenching and excavation regulations.
  • Prevention Techniques: Learn and apply prevention strategies like protective systems, soil analysis, and shoring to prevent cave-ins and reduce risks.
  • Inspection Criteria: Understand inspection criteria to maintain safe worksites and address hazards promptly during trenching and excavation projects.
