Smart Design to Prevent Slip, Trips, and Falls

This course is designed to provide an overview of smart safety design for preventing slips, trips and falls. Participants will learn how to identify different types of accidents, recognize areas where they occur, and understand the importance of coefficient of friction, and evaluate non-slip products for use in a variety of applications.

Objectives:

  • Differentiate between slips, trips, and falls, and recognize the four common areas where they occur
  • Discuss coefficient of friction
  • Describe applications where non-slip products are used
  • Examine criteria in evaluating slip resistant products

Presenter:

Kevin Buchanan graduated from Texas A&M in 1988 and has since gained 30+ years of industrial sales experience with material handling equipment and components in various industries including cement, power generation, food and beverage, and mining. He lives with his wife, Jill, of 30 years and they have four grown children. He has been with SLIPNOT for just over one year and recently received his NASP WWS certification for Walking and Working Surfaces and Fall Protection Specialist.
